Terms of Use

Last updated October 18, 2026. These terms cover the GemSpot website (gemspot.ca) and the GemSpot iOS app. By creating an account or using GemSpot you agree to them.

Your account

You need to be at least 13 to use GemSpot. Keep your password to yourself; you're responsible for what happens on your account. You can delete it any time in Me → Settings → Delete account.

What you post

You own the gems, rankings, photos, comments and trips you share. By posting them publicly you let GemSpot show, store and share them within the service (for example on the map, in feeds and on share links). Post only what you have the right to share.

Don't post anything that is illegal, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, violent, spam, or that shares someone else's private information. Don't drop gems on private property that invite trespassing, or anything that puts people in danger.

Keeping GemSpot safe

Public posts and photos are screened automatically, and anyone can report a gem or post. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms. Don't try to break, overload, scrape or get around the limits of the service.

Out in the world

Gems and rankings are opinions from other people. Places change, close or move; check before you go, respect local rules and private property, and stay safe on trips. GemSpot is provided as is, without warranties, and to the extent the law allows we aren't liable for losses from using it.

Changes

We may update these terms; the date above shows the latest version. Continuing to use GemSpot after a change means you accept it. How we handle your data is in the Privacy Policy.
